150 Cards Later....Well, ok, 149

I did it.

I made 150 greeting cards. Minus one.

I started out making only one card, then got creative, and ended up making about 10 or so different designs. While I was making one kind, I would think of another and before long, was making the second, then the third, fourth, and so on. It was actually fun.

Throughout this endeavor I found that I am more creative under pressure. It's no surprise, because even during my daily 9-5, 40 hour week I am more productive when someone shoves something under my nose and tells me they need it yesterday. Gets the blood flowing, the adrenaline pumping. I'm no scientist, but I bet adrenaline is driving force in creativity- I'll have to look that up.

I got each and every card mailed off to the "little promo box" yesterday. They will get there just in time for all of those boxes I am sure are going to sell. I hope that my work sparks some interest and draws more buyers. If nothing more, at least I pulled a few good ideas out of my head.

Funny thing is, I still have a few ideas swirling around in my head and I can't wait for the next challenge.

Oh yea, the 150th card? It just didn't pass inspector 13 so I had to keep it.

Another Day, Another Card

White is always such a difficult color to photograph, especially if you are not very good at photo taking. This is one of my promo cards I plan on including when I send in my Little Black Box Promo items. This cute little card is made with paper lace doilies. They never look good under a chocolate cake, anyway. I put three pretty sparkles in two of the opposite corners, heat embossed congrats in shiny silver, and topped off the whole thing with a hand tied bow . The lace is backed with some really pretty pearly paper. I love that stuff. It always makes any card look like a million bucks.

I didn't get my 75 cards done, but I did get fifty finished. Deadlines always seem to bring out the best creativity in me. I wish I had more deadlines.

150 Cards

This weekend is going to be BUSY for me! I decided to participate in the Little Black Box Promotion. It's a box full of goodies that have been sent to promote a sellers items from their Etsy shops. Sales haven't been really stellar for me, so I thought I would do what you have to do-spend money to make money, and promote promote promote! I'm including this really cute card I whipped up last weekend. It's something simple, but cute. I am also going to include one Christmas card in the hopes of boosting some holiday sales.

I've also restricted myself from buying any more supplies for a while. I have enough paper, ribbon and embellishments to supply a scrapbooking store. I sit here fidgeting because I know that Hobby Lobby closes in 50 minutes and boy what kind of stuff I could buy in that short span of time. I think I have a problem.

Well, that's all for now. I am going to try to get at least 75 of those cards finished before the end of the week.
